The orginal flag for House Armandel was the crossed swords of the ancient allies House Armandel and House Faltere. The death of the final son of House Faltere at the hands of Ghorvaan soldiers was a blow for House Armandel and was one of the factors that sparked off the second Ghorvaan-Armandel wars. The third sword was added after House Chal'dre joined in an alliance with House Armandel at the end of the Second Ghorvaan Armandel war. The legend underneath reads simply "Armandel and Chal'dre". It is written in old script and translates more precisley as "The brothers Amrandel and Chal'dre". There has been great pressure lately to remove the thrid sword from the flag ever since House Armandel refused to help their allies in the last Ghorvaan-Armandel war. The Ghorvaan are the Armandel's bitter enemies but recently this rivalry has been subdued by the arranged marriage between Lord Arazael Armandel, the heir to the Armandel Throne and Lady Shasha Ghorvaan the daughter of Duke Tobias Ghorvaan, head of House Ghorvaan. Arazael's younger brother Kalias was killed in the last Ghorvaan-Armandel war but his youngest brother, Leand, is quickly proving to be an able leader. Important members of House Armandel: Duke Doren Armandel II - The leader of the Armandel. A veteran of three wars. He is an old warrior whose health is gradually fading. Lord Arazael Armandel - The first born of Doren. Heir to the throne and recently married to Sasha Ghorvaan. Lady Sasha Armandel - Formerly Sasha Ghorvaan and daughter to Duke Tobias Ghorvaan. Lord Leand Armandel - Youngest of the Armandel sons. A war hero from the fifth Ghorvaan-Armandel war. Commander of "Leand's Wolves" formerly the 5th Armandel light infantry. Erand Mesopheles - Advisor to Duke Armandel. A fine swordsman and tutor to the Amrandel sons. He is also the leader of the Order of the White rose, a secret pro-Armandel organisation. Lieutenant Gabriel Teniba - Officer of the Wolves. Tyrin Wiese - Nephew to the Duke and good friend of Leand. Mordred - A White Rose agent and traveeling companion of Leand. |
